Purpose and Passion
All about holistic health, Dr. J believes in treating the whole person, not simply behaviors or symptoms. She is particularly passionate about a plant-based diet for optimal nutrition to fuel the brain and body. She believes in God and the power of spirituality, prayer, meditation, and scripture in maintaining a balanced life. Furthermore, Dr. J utilizes and highly recommends the use of mantras, mindfulness, and positive affirmations for growth, to build insight and for personal development. Like many others, she faces life difficulties and finds that these help to build the mind’s power in effectively managing struggles and stressors. Dr. J is also a classically trained pianist who studied at the Sherwood Conservatory of Music. She knows well the effects of music on the brain and overall mood. Therefore, she often includes adjunctive techniques to traditional mental, neuropsychological and behavioral health as well as discusses diet and nutrition with patients. Neurotherapy allows her to see firsthand how the power of food and the inclusion of healthier mind-body practices aid in stabilizing the brain and thus psychological symptoms.
